Founded in 2016 by Mohamed Adam—also known as Peter—Peter & Black is a handmade leather brand born out of love for craftsmanship and cultural storytelling. Originally launched in Khartoum, Sudan, and now based in Nairobi, Kenya, the brand honors timeless artistry, emotion, and memory.

Our Philosophy

At Peter & Black, we believe in the power of process—slow, intentional, and thoughtful. Our leather goods are crafted entirely by hand using traditional techniques, with every stitch a tribute to Sudanese heritage and the sentimental stories that shape us.

From War to Resilience

After fleeing conflict in Sudan, Mohamed rebuilt the brand in Kenya with the same spirit that defines Peter & Black: resilience, creativity, and care. Today, our work continues to speak of home, identity, and hope.
